Congratulations to six outstanding Montana Swimming athletes named to the USA Swimming Scholastic All America Team!! These athletes are both fast and smart having achieved both a 2017 Winter Juniors qualifying time or faster and have a 3.5 gpa or higher in academic subjects in the past school year.
Ethan Harder (BAC) and James Bouda (KATS) are two time team members. Ethan completed his junior year at MSU/Internationals Virtual learning Academy with a 4.0 gpa. James completed his senior year at Flathead High School with a 3.7 gpa and is attending the University of Wyoming this fall.
Four other swimmers qualified for the team for their first year. Catherine Russo (BMA) completed her sophomore year at Butte High School with a 4.0 gpa. Katharine Berkoff (MAC) completed her junior year at Hellgate High School with a 4.0 gpa. Peter Thompson (BAC) has a 3.9 gpa and attends Billings Senior High School. Parker Keller (HLST) completed his sophomore year with a 4.0 gpa and attends Helena High School.
These athletes will be recognized on the USA Swimming website and each will receive three certificates – one for the swimmer, one for their club, and one for their school. Each member will also receive a commemorative bag tag.
Montana Swimming and USA Swimming are proud to recognize these scholar-athletes and congratulate the swimmers on their achievement, as well as their coaches and parents for their outstanding support!
